What to expect
* We will be in urban Oaxaca, Mexico, and in the outskirts of the city. Please consult with your doctor regarding any vaccinations or other precautions you should take.
* While we may travel to a location in a group, participants should expect to separate and work independently at the location.
* Local people are generally friendly and accustomed to tourists. Many do not mind having their photo taken, and those who do may just turn their back to you. Please be respectful of local people and customs at all times.
* There will be lots of walking, at times on unpaved or cobblestone streets. The cemetery is dark, rocky/uneven, crowded and narrow. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
* Though Oaxaca is a relatively safe city, it is advisable to avoid wearing flashy jewelry & watches, and to keep money, credit cards & passport in a safe place.
* There are several ATMs in the city center, but they may carry heavy transaction fees. Check with your bank and/or credit card company before traveling. Many stores and restaurants accept credit cards, but not all do. Bring at least some cash for when you first arrive.
* There is no currency exchange in the Oaxaca airport.
* FotoMundo Workshops is for students 18-years-old and up, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
* Workshop participants must obey local laws and not engage in any illegal behavior. Participants are responsible for their own actions.
